Back to France with the students

We came back yesterday from Peterborough at La gare du nord with the students where some of the families were looking forward to seeing their children who had spent five weeks abroad. All the students came back with the intention to return to England and spend some more time. Obviously they did tons of shopping, bringing lots of souvenirs for their parents. Surprisingly, the temperatures were below minus 11in the morning. I had never experienced such a freezing weather in England. Anyway we had a nice and lovely experience.

Back to Peterborough

Hello everybody,

We are back again in this lovely city with my colleague. We arrived on Wednesday. As soon as we arrived we met with our students. We spent some time chatting with them as they had a lot to tell us about their stay here. We stood for an hour talking in the cold at Queens gate station. Because it was getting late we decided to go to our host family, John and Carroll since they were waiting for us. Again we had a lovely welcome. The morning after we went to visit the companies where our students were doing their work experience. It was great to discover their working environment. At the end of the day we had a drink together with the students to celebrate the end of their internship. On Friday we finished visiting the companies and discussed with Beverley about how things went on during these 4 weeks. It was a lifetime outstanding experience for our students. On Saturday the 11th we are heading back to London where we will be catching our train to Paris.

We hope that the freezing temperatures will not cause any delay. It is 8.20 pm and it is already minus 6 here in Peterborough.... So have a good night everyone, and we shall get in touch soon.

It's freezing cold...

Just like the rest of Europe, Peterborough is freezing cold with some temperatures below zero. Anyway we can't really complain since the sun is out there, not very warm but so shiny. So let's get our sunglasses and enjoy a big class of soft drink down the pub.

Some fresh news

Hello everybody,

It's been a few days since our last contact. This is due to different reasons. But the most important is to let you know that our students have been in Peterborough for a couple of weeks. Globally the experience according to them is great. They have been feeling ups and downs. But the impression is that their English has improved significantly. Beyond that, they have gained some tremendous work experience. They have met some nice people. They took some time off to visit Cambridge, to go back to London, and basically to enjoy their 'English lives'.

Arriving in London

We arrived in London and discovered the new station.

On the train

We took some time off on the train to feed ourselves after lifting the super heavy weight suitcases all across the train. We managed to fit every single bag and we had some nice food. And then we felt like we were ready for England.

The D Day

On Saturday the 7th we met at the station in Paris. Everybody was on time. We felt supported by the parents who came along with the students. A couple of tears later, we were boarding the train.
