Commentaires
I think I won't be able to work with K12 because there is not real teachers in front of you and won't be enough motivated to do my homework because the teachers can't give you detentions or words(?) (how do you say "mots" in English?).
However I think it could be a good thing for others good pupils because like this they can learn faster.
In conclusion It could be a good thing but not for me!
Honestly, I think K12 isn't a good idea. I prefer teachers. Even if they are (sometimes) kind, naive, meany, mistrustful, nervous, etc, they have each a mind.
I've got other reasons, but that's enough to answer to this question (I know I'm lazy). I'm 99% against K12.
Kind, nervous and naive,OK I can see ..... But meany teachers ?!!! No really there can't be any teachers like that in CDV !
Yuto, you would say sadistic teacher instead of meany teacher, no? 'Cause There are lots of S teachers, like certain english teacher...
I think K12 could be a good thing for good pupils so that they could learn faster but I think that the contact is really important and K12 couldn't replace a teacher !! Even if sometimes the teachers are "meany" they are the only who can really teach you !!
Thanks Léo Pa. I've never heard about this website even if I used to live in the States.
Nothing can replace your teachers !
You know why ?
First, they are able to answer your questions.
They can make you feel more confident.
They also provide you moments of entertainment while they're teaching
Do you agree with me ?
But there are teachers as well with k12 ! -> http://www.k12.com/k12-teachers
And morever, you have you're lesson's at home, so that your parents have contacts with teachers (they punish you if you do bad things), and they have to spent some hours to support they're child education (which is not possible in every families because they could be occupated).
So it puts each one at his own spot : parents educate, and teachers give learning.
Ok, thanks Léo for this additional information.
I really appreciate the American English accent in the video ...
I'm almost convinced by the k12 program.
Oh yes, one last thing to say: I really like your last sentence in your previous comment.
THEIR Child'S education
YOUR lesson ( déterminants possessifs Léo !)
It's true that teachers should only provide learning and not educate but unfortunately some pupils need educating and it shouldn't be our roles but we have to ! ( sigh)
I agree with Mrs Ruiz , there are some fun moments in class sometimes !
Maybe UNknown could be courageous enough to give his name and make his innuendo more explicit !
I am not really in fond of K-12, on the one hand, because if you are alone in front of your computer, you can't have, just different points of view, and it is very important to have an personal opinion with different arguments (am I doing an off-topic ?
)
And on the other hand, It could be interesting for people who are not able to go to school, such as children who have to stay in hospital for a long time.... Yuto, I know you are 99% against K-12, but try to think about that...
There are some ideas in K12 but I'm not interested in it. One the one hand if we use it, there won't be fun athmospheres anymore in class and it would break the class tradition since many years. On the other hand, how will we pass our Brevet or Baccalaureate for example ? Maybe in a class room, but in that case we will only have real contacts in this occasion
. Moreover I think that no software can replace a subject as maths, for me using paper is better for many reasons. Finally, we will spend a lot of our days in front of the computer and goodbye our eyes !
To my mind, On the one hand, learning on our own could developp our sense of autonomy. It could also allowed motivated pupils to learn faster, and maybe for "bad" pupils to have a personal lesson with a teacher :) ( as Leo Pa showed us by the link)
However, I really prefer the contact of my classmate because actually, the atmosphere in some class is never always at 100% serious... And well, learning together is great !
Moreover, some bad pupils really need the motivation who brings ( well, that's quite schematized...) good pupils.
Finally, I prefer learning by hearing a teacher's voice, so K12 won't be able to replace them. ( Honestly, unless if K12 can speak ! )
Who is this "Unknown" ? You're hiding ? Show us your name ! Give me five ! Sadistic teachers are.... Sadistic.
Well, after watching those links, I'm totally against K12 ! How can you concentrate more than 2 seconds when they are shortcuts for games on your desktop ? Let's play videogames at home and work at school !
To my mind, K12 is a good idea but as everybody said it won't replace "real" teachers... However, it would be funny to try to have just one lesson with K12...
Moreover, as Jeanne said it would developp our sense of autonomy! Nevertheless, work with classmates is rewarding ("motivant"?) but sometimes boring because in many subjects we could work faster! We're living in a commune...
and I like so much the contact with all my classmates...

But maybe one day I will try to work with K12 just once!
Good afternoon
To my mind I am against that because when I'm on the computer it's difficult to work. Because there are videos, videogames and I can't be concentrated (as now for example). Morever in class we have to be sociable and even if I understand faster than other people I can wait or talk with my neighbour.
Ho, i have putted an long long comment, where is it ???! I'm sorry, Mrs, can you check in the "undesirables" please ?
I think it's ridiculous ! To my mind, in school we learn, of course, the program in math or english but we also learn to live together, the respect ...
And I aslo think that learning with a thing shuc as K12 ask a maturity and a self-control that we don't have at our ages ! In that case you can also learn on your house ... Make your own programm ... As far as I'm concerned I think K12 is not a solution to some problem but just a strange invention ...
I forgot a part of my comment --'
)
I know they are teachers on k12 and your parents can contact them but if it's well respected ... In what ways does K12 will but usefull ?
I think it's letting the door open to all problems :)
Computer will never replace school ...
(but they are very usefull as well
Well, this question is very difficult because my opinion is share on this subject. I can't say if K12 is good or bad, I can just say that it depends of each students. For exemple, I think, it's not an ideal method for lazy pupils because if you're at home, you will choose watching TV instead of working. However, it can be a very good idea for gifted pupils ( surdoués ? ) for who school is not adapted because the are always bored in class and who need less explanations than "normal" pupils. But to my mind, It's more interesting to learn with friends and going to school help you to build a social life, to live in collectivity.
I think K12 is very special because you don't speak with a teacher but I think there is a good advantage for language lesson because if you speak with a teacher on skype it is like an individual lesson so you speak more and the teacher can immediately correct you.
To my mind, I don't realy know if K-12 is a good method because I've never tried it! But like Elias said, it"s difficult to work seriously on the computer. Moreover, you can't realy meet friends so I think K-12 is boring.
I don't think that I could be able to work with K-12 because I prefer real contact with people. If everything becomes virtual we'll lose this contact with people! Leo said that we can see people during activities out of school but that's not enough.
I don't think it could replace teachers and i prefer a real contact because it s the best
