The group has worked on a video on Equality and diversity in Great Britain. here
Progress has been achieved in terms of equality for women, for people of different races and for gays, lesbians, bisexual and transgender people.
The Equality and Human Rights Commission has identified new challenges:
- boys and young men under-perform at every level of the education system.
- women still earn significantly less for less hour they work.
- women in their fifties who have to stop working in order to care for partners see their health and health deteriorate.
- people of different races or minority groups and handicapped or disabled people are less likely to hold positions of civic influence.
